aka Granola. Breakfast mix for the healthy conscious.
Tailor your own muesli with your own selection of ingredients.
3 cups rolled Oats
1/2 cup coconut flakes
1 cup broken nuts of your choice
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1/4 sunflower seeds
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 tablespoon milk
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup raisins/sultanas/
dried cranberries/small dried fruit
1 teaspoon fine cinnamon
Preheat over to 180C.
Melt butter, honey, milk and salt in a saucepan. In a separate bowl mix together oats, coconut, nuts, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds and optional extras. Pour melted butter mix over the oat mix. Stir until all the oats are coated. Spread on over tray and bake. Stir tray frequently so that mix doesn’t burn. After 25 mins remove from over over, cool in tray and add raisins and dried fruit. Once cool store in airtight container.
Next time I make this I might consider using coconut oil instead of butter.
Serve with a good quality plain yogurt for breakfast!
